For most people, Thanksgiving is a time for traditions and family. But for Dexter, it’s an opportunity to get closer to his most dangerous adversary yet. As Dexter gains insight into Arthur’s psychology by studying those closest to him, he finds himself drawn into a bizarre and twisted world. Meanwhile, Rita has her hands full preparing dinner for a packed house, including a few unexpected guests. Batista gets closure on an old case, while Debra uses the holiday to continue her investigation of the Trinity Killer, a pursuit which threatens her brother’s safety and brings to light surprising revelations about someone else close to her.
What seemed like a filler episode of Dexter ended intriguingly this week. Here’s a quick summary of what went down:
Deb gave up on her search for the woman Harry had an affair with, when it turned out one former CI said Harry slept with all his informants. To Dexter’s delight, Deb never came across his mother’s file. To Dexter’s chagrin, though, Deb did receive permission to pursue Trinity when she linked him to the bludgeoning case.
Meanwhile, Trinity and Dexter bonded a bit more, as the former took the latter to chop down a tree. Trinity seemed to be in an especially foul mood, and acted strangely when he hit a deer with his van, yet couldn’t bring himself to put the animal out of its misery. Dexter took an axe to the creature and did it for him. At the end of the episode, we see that Trinity has built a coffin. Who could this be fore? He new pal “Kyle?”
Quinn also now has suspicions of Dexter. He wonders why Dex held on to his apartment for so long and actually follows Dexter around one night. Shades of Doakes from season two.
After learning from Trinity that it’s important for kids to be pushed into activities, Dexter signs Cody up to be a Young Sailor. Just one problem: this means Dexter must accompany him on a camping trip. In the middle of the night, after Cody has fallen asleep, Dexter sneaks out and kills a photographer that he believed had killed and raped women. Now, there’s another problem:
When Dexter arrives at work the next day, he discovers that the police has arrested the photographer’s assistance. As Dexter says to conclude the episode, he killed an innocent man.
Dexter is so close to finishing Trinity and ending his marriage to Rita. Dexter has begun to realize that the closer he gets to Trinity, the more he stands to learn from this very different beast. And when the friction between Rita and him comes to a head, Dexter gleans relationship advice from a most unlikely source.

LaGuerta and Batista come to regret a major decision, and realize that by playing by the rules they may have painted themselves into a corner.
In addition to the preview, Showtime releases two clips from the November 1 episode. The first one deals with Debra telling Dexter her theory while the second one is about Rita and Dexter going for marriage counseling.

Debra’s life is hanging on a balance on the next episode of “Dexter“. The recent events spur Dexter into his own investigation of the Trinity killer. His motivations are now personal, and the clock is ticking. But the closer Dexter gets, the more he realizes that Trinity is unlike any monster he’s previously encountered.
Meanwhile, Debra blames herself for events that were out of her control, and in so doing pushes away those closest to her. As LaGuerta and Batista close in on the Vacation Murderers, Batista realizes he can use Quinn’s relationship with a certain reporter to his advantage. And when Rita discovers a secret Dexter’s been keeping from her, she begins to realize just how little she knows about the man she married.
The episode called “Dirty Harry” is airing next Sunday, October 25 on Showtime. There’s an additional sneak peek from the episode on Sho.com that shows Dexter being held up upon arriving at the crime scene.
On another news, Collider has tried to dig out some information about the season finale from Julie Benz who plays Rita. The actress confessed that beside “shocking”, the ending for this season will be a cliffhanger, something that the show had never done in the previous three seasons.
Keith Carradine returned this season on Dexter, bringing special agent Frank Lundy back into the life of Dexter, Deb and Miami’s newest serial killer.
But the character didn’t stick around too long, as he appeared to be bite the literal bullet last night when he and Deb were gunned down in a parking lot.
It looks like Dexter’s sister will make it, but the odds aren’t good for Carradine’s Lundy.
“It didn’t come as a complete shock,” the actor told TV Guide Magazine when asked about his character’s fate. “The scenario was laid out pretty clear to me when they asked me to come back.”
Did Trinity take out Lundy? Or is there any chance Anton’s jealousy led to a heinous act?
Don’t feel badly for Carradine, however.
He’ll guest star on both Dollhouse and Damages in the near future.
